First time?
First massage? You're very welcome here.
The quick version
What do I wear?
Whatever's comfy. For massage you only undress as far as you're comfortable with, and you're covered the whole time except the bit I'm working on. Some treatments are fully clothed; each treatment page tells you.
Do I have to talk?
Nope. This isn't a catch-up session. Chat if you want to, or say nothing at all. Both are completely fine.
What if I can't relax?
Then you can't, and that's okay. There's no gold star for letting go properly. Your body's allowed to take its time.
Will it hurt?
Deep tissue isn't a punishment. Effective beats painful. Firm pressure can feel intense, but it should never feel wrong. Tell me and I'll change it straight away.
What if I'm self-conscious?
Bodies are bodies, and I'm not judging yours. Keep on whatever makes you comfortable, tell me anywhere to avoid, and nothing happens that you're not okay with.
What if I don't know which treatment I need?
Most people don't. Try the “What does your body need today?” questions, or just message me and we'll work it out.
What if I fall asleep?
Yes, you can fall asleep. Honestly, I take it as a compliment. Snoring included.
What if I need to change the pressure?
Say so, any time. “Harder”, “softer”, “not there”: all welcome. You won't offend me. It's your session.
What if I'm having a rough day?
Come anyway. You don't owe anyone a calm, floaty version of you. You can drop it at the door.
Everything else
Where exactly are you?
The Wellness Room is in Prescot. I work from home, so I send you the full address once your appointment is confirmed — that way I know who's coming and when.
Do I need to talk during the massage?
Not at all. I'll check in about pressure now and then, and that's it unless you fancy a chat. You can literally just exist here.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable. For massage you undress to whatever level you're comfortable with and stay covered throughout, apart from the area I'm working on. Clothed treatments are marked on each treatment page.
Do I need to arrive early?
Can I change the pressure?
Always. Just say. You can change your mind halfway through too. I work with your body, not against it.
What happens during my first session?
We'll have a quick chat first about how you're feeling, anything that's sore, anything to avoid and what you'd like to get out of it. Some treatments have a short consultation form so they can be done safely. Then you get comfy and I get to work.
What if I can't relax?
That's fine. You don't have to be good at relaxing. There's nothing to get right. Your body will do what it does, and I'll work with that.
Can I fall asleep?
Yes. Please do, if you want to. It happens all the time.
Do I have to understand chakras or spirituality?
No. The spiritual side is there if you want it and completely optional if you don't. Chakras and Reiki are part of my holistic practice. They're complementary, not a replacement for medical care.
Which treatment should I book?
Whichever sounds most like what you need today. The “What does your body need today?” questions on the homepage and treatments page will point you in the right direction, and every treatment page says who it might suit.
Can Danielle help me choose?
Of course. Message me with what's going on and I'll suggest something. No pressure to book.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Life happens. Just let me know as soon as you can — the cancellation policy page has the details.
How do I book?
