This explains what happens to your information when you use this website or come for a treatment. It’s written in plain English rather than legal language, and it describes how things actually work — not how a template says they should.

Who looks after your information

The Wellness Room by Danielle is run by Danielle, who decides how your information is used and looks after it personally. If you have a question about any of this, message me on Instagram (opens in a new tab).

What this website collects

Almost nothing. There is no contact form, no account to create, no newsletter sign-up and no tracking. You can read every page here without telling me who you are.

  • Technical information kept by the company that hosts the site. Like any website, visits leave short-term records such as your device’s internet address, so pages load and the site stays secure. These aren’t used to build a picture of you, and I don’t look at individual visits.
  • Nothing stored on your device beyond what your browser needs to show the page. See cookies for the detail.

Booking an appointment

When you tap a booking button you leave this website and finish booking through the booking service I already use. Anything you type there — your name, contact details, payment details if any — goes to that service and to me as your therapist. It isn’t collected by this website.

That service has its own privacy information, shown when you book. If you’d like me to point you to it, just ask.

When you contact me

If you email, call, text or message me on social media, I keep that conversation so I can reply and look after you properly — the same way anyone keeps their messages. I don’t add you to any mailing list because you got in touch.

Health information

Some treatments need me to know about your health before I can carry them out safely — for example if you’re pregnant, taking medication or recovering from an injury. I ask for that only where it genuinely matters, keep it to myself, and use it only to keep your treatment safe and comfortable.

Marketing

I only send offers or news to people who have clearly asked for them, and you can tell me to stop at any time and I will.

Who else sees your information

Only the services needed to run things: the company that hosts this website, my email provider, the booking service that takes your bookings, and — where relevant — my accountant or insurer. I don’t sell anyone’s information, and I never will.

How long it’s kept

Only as long as there’s a reason to keep it: your treatment records for as long as I’m expected to hold them as a therapist, messages for as long as they’re useful, and anything else no longer than it’s needed.

What you can ask for

Under UK data protection law you can ask me for a copy of the information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to how it’s used. Just ask — there’s no form and no charge. I’ll reply within a month.

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab), though I’d really rather you told me first so I can put it right.
