From the Room · Grounding

A five-minute grounding practice

· 3 minute read

Grounding sounds grand, but most of the time it just means coming back to where you actually are. This is one I share with people at the end of a session so they have something to take home.

  1. 1Sit or stand with both feet flat on the floor.
  2. 2Notice five things you can see, slowly.
  3. 3Press your feet down gently and feel the ground press back.
  4. 4Breathe out for longer than you breathe in, five times.
  5. 5Before you move on, name one thing you're looking forward to today.

That's it. No candles required — though I won't stop you.
